By now most of us are about two months into school. For some, this could’ve meant a solid two months of having fun and exploring college. For others, now may be the point of breakdown over endless hours interning, job apps, and intense classes. Regardless of what your particular situation is, it’s time to refresh and take a moment for yourself. Allow your mind to reboot from the constant go, go, go you’re putting it through. Our favorite way to do this is by treating ourselves to an easy and quick, three-ingredient DIY oatmeal mask. Are you excited? We know you are, so let’s get started.
Literally just three ingredients! For the lazy girl in me, that’s worth celebrating.
- 1 tbsp of Oatmeal
- 1 tsp of Lemon Juice
- 2 tsp of Plain Greek Yogurt
- 2 Cold Cucumber Slices (optional)
Why, you ask, are we using these particular ingredients? Since the yogurt is cold from the fridge, it helps soothe the skin and feels super refreshing! Also, the yogurt acts as a light moisturizer. Oats have long been used to tone and soften skin. We’re always amazed at how toned skin looks immediately after using this. Finally, the lemon acts as a natural astringent which helps tighten your pores.
First wash your face. Whenever you’re doing a mask you want to be working with clean skin. Take the oatmeal, lemon juice, and yogurt and throw it in a bowl. Mix that up, and you’re ready to put that goodness onto your freshly cleansed skin!
Once the concoction is slathered onto your face, lie down and place the cold cucumber slices over your eyes. This feels refreshing and will help with puffiness in the eye area! When you’re comfortable, let everything melt away and take the next 6-10 minutes to rest your mind. You deserve it.
